“ Nice day trip to the Orchard. It is the end of the season, but they still had 4 varieties of apples for picking. We picked apples and a pumpkin. We visited the farm store where we bought cider and cobbler mix. Staff were lovely. It was a great trip overall! ”

“ They have a lot of certain apples still on the tree. They give you a wagon ride to different parts of the Orchards and explain what apples are there. There are wagons to be pulled to carry your boxes of apples. Everybody there was very friendly. Delicious apple Donuts. ”

“ We recently visited Garwood Orchards while we were on vacation. It was our first visit there. The staff was warm and welcoming. They had a store with mums, produce, and such. You could purchase bagged apples or pick your own. We took a short ride to pick our own. There was a good variety of apples. The orchard was well maintained. We would highly recommend Garwood Orchard if you're looking for a place to go apple picking. ”

“ This is the premier place for U-pick! You can find all sorts of vegetables and fruits in the spring, summer and fall. My favorite is strawberries, peaches, cucumbers, green beans and apples. The prices are fair and you can also purchase by the bushel. Folks are nice and there are tractors to take you out to the fields. You can score fresh baked goods, frozen pies, meats and some canned items as well. Definitely bring water and a hat on sunny days! ”

“ Great orchard with many different types of apples. We went during Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day weekend and there were still a lot of apples to pick. Loved that they have the orchard or their farm stand store. When we went they had the most beautiful mugs and large pumpkins. The employees were helpful and the tractor ride was a delight for my 2 year old. I would like to visit during the late summer when you can fill your large bushel with fruits and veggies. Worth the drive from Chicago or SW Michigan. * delicious apple cider donuts. ”

“ Great place to pick apples or pumpkins on a sunny fall afternoon. Established in 1831, Garwood Farm and Orchard is owned and operated by the sixth generation of Garwood family farmers. Covering over 350 acres which include over 200 acres of apple orchards, there are so many seasonal varieties to pick. Currently, golden delicious, red delicious and idared are ripe. Call to check on current offerings. The other 150 acres grow a variety of peaches, strawberries, sweet corn, cucumbers, cherries and more. Fun also to be able to walk in the orchard to a true farm fresh Pumpkin Patch. Nice to walk and see the pumpkins actually growing on the vines and pick out the perfect Jack-o-lantern for Halloween. A open tractor transports you to the orchard. Masks are required. A bushel is $30. A peck is $8. Minimum purchase required. Try also the fresh apple cider as well. Check out the farmer's market, bakery or locally made jams and jellies, too. ”

To pick: There are many kinds of apples, eggplants, tomato's, string beans, raspberries, black raspberries, blackberries and more! Trailer: Take the trailer to your picking destination or ride it just for fun. Let the driver know where you are picking from and they will take you there. I would suggest wearing sunglasses because the dust from the trailer will blow into your eyes and mouth (for some day when you won't be required to wear a mask). There is the option to leave a tip for the driver. Inside to purchase: They have everything from jams, candy apples, donuts, apple cider, all their fruit and vegetables, gourds, corn, pumpkins, etc. COVID-19: they have signs that say to wear masks when in the building, in line outside, on the orchard and tractor. They also have hand sanitizer near the check out, though standing 6 ft apart was not enforced indoors. I'm not sure if there is a cap to how many people can enter the building when it is busy. ”
